Toronto, ON (November 13, 2008) - After Canada placed a new record high of more than 1.7 million votes from across the country on Wednesday night, it was revealed live on CTV tonight that DANNY and KAITLYN are the next dancers to be eliminated from SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA. The eight remaining dancers will take to the stage for the Top 8 Performance episode on Wednesday, November 19 at 8 p.m. ET on CTV (visit CTV.ca to confirm local listings).

With voting now based on individual competitors instead of couples, the two girls and two guys who received the lowest number of votes following last night's countrywide poll were girls KAITLYN Fitzgerald, NATALLI Reznik, and boys DANNY Arbour and MILES Faber. All four dancers had the opportunity to perform one more time in what could be their final performance on the program. In the end, host Leah Miller announced live that DANNY Arbour, 26 a Latin and Ballroom dancer from Montréal and KAITLYN Fitzgerald 18, a Contemporary dancer from Loretto, ON, received the lowest number of votes and would be going home.

Tonight's results show opened with the Top 10 performing a contemporary number choreographed by SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE guest judge, and Emmy Award-winning choreographer, Mia Michaels. Dressed in costumes that fused post-apocalyptic and new world fashion, the dancers performed a hard-hitting Gangs of New York inspired number to Mika's song "Any Other World."

Next week, cchoreographer and SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE guest judge Dan Karaty, and resident SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE CANADA choreographer Sean Cheesman, join Tré Armstrong and Jean Marc Genereux behind the judge's desk for the Top 8 shows.

Dan Karaty has created award-winning choreography and has acted in films such as Music & Lyrics with Drew Barrymore and Hugh Grant, but he is probably best known for his hip-hop choreography and thought-provoking critiques which have made him one of SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE's favourite judges. Karaty met friend and collaborator Wade Robson at New York University, and later made his Broadway debut in Footloose, before dancing with Britney Spears on the MTV VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS and THE BILLBOARD AWARDS. Karaty has worked with *NSYNC, Jessica Simpson, Kylie Minogue, Justin Timberlake and Usher, and has choreographed videos for iPod, Best Buy and Mattel. Karaty is currently in development on several film and television projects, and a Broadway production of his own.

Calgary's Sean Cheesman is an internationally-renowned director/choreographer who has worked with some of the world's top entertainers including Janet Jackson, TLC, Prince, Vanessa Williams, Tina Turner, Whitney Houston, Queen Latifah and Britney Spears. Cheesman has toured with Janet Jackson as a choreographer and dancer as well as choreographing tours for Prince. Cheesman appeared in and choreographed the film The Bodyguard and most recently was the host and lead judge of the U.K. television series DIRTY DANCING: TIME OF YOUR LIFE.
