Stephen Colbert Creates a New Holiday Tradition with A COLBERT CHRISTMAS: THE GREATEST GIFT OF ALL on CTV and The Comedy Network

- One-hour musical comedy special includes friends Toby Keith, Elvis Costello, Willie Nelson, Jon Stewart and JUNO award winner Feist -

Toronto, ON (November 12, 2008) - 'Tis the season to be funny. THE COLBERT REPORT host Stephen Colbert kicks off a new holiday tradition with the premiere of A COLBERT CHRISTMAS: THE GREATEST GIFT OF ALL, Sunday, November 23 at 9 p.m. ET on CTV and 10 p.m. ET on The Comedy Network (visit ctv.ca and thecomedynetwork.ca to confirm local broadcast times). Kicking off CTV's Holiday Programming line-up (details to be announced), the one-hour musical comedy special features guest appearances by Colbert pals Feist, Toby Keith, John Legend, Willie Nelson and Jon Stewart. A COLBERT CHRISTMAS: THE GREATEST GIFT OF ALL finds comic right-wing pundit Colbert snowed in at his cabin in upstate New York and unable to make a meeting with Elvis Costello in New York City. Weathering the storm with musical help from friends Feist, Toby Keith, John Legend, Willie Nelson and Jon Stewart, the special features original songs written by David Javerbaum (executive producer, THE DAILY SHOW WITH JON STEWART) and composer Adam Schlesinger (Fountains of Wayne), who recently collaborated on the Tony® nominated John Waters Broadway musical Cry Baby. The songs were produced by Schlesinger and Steven M. Gold; theme music and score also by Schlesinger and Gold.
