CTV Montreal Appoints Todd van der Heyden To Its Flagship Newscast at 6 p.m.

-- Journalist to Co-Anchor CTV Evening News with Mutsumi Takahashi --

Montreal, PQ (July 28, 2008) - CTV Montreal announced today that Todd van der Heyden will become the new Co-Anchor for the station's flagship newscast at 6 p.m. Van der Heyden will join veteran Anchor Mutsumi Takahashi on CTV Evening News, Montreal's top-ranked English newscast, beginning Monday, August 11.

"Todd is a rising star in broadcast journalism and we are thrilled he will be joining our evening newscast," said Don Bastien, Senior Vice President and General Manager, CTV Montreal. "Todd is a Montrealer who is incredibly committed to serving this community."

A native Montrealer, Todd van der Heyden is a familiar face on the Quebec news scene, reporting and anchoring for CTV Montreal for almost a decade. Throughout his career, van der Heyden has won several industry awards for his investigative journalism - most notably for his On Your Side reports that have exposed numerous issues facing Montreal. Van der Heyden has also reported on 9/11 and the Summit of Americas riots in Quebec City. Van der Heyden will continue to Co-Anchor CTV Montreal's popular noon newscast with Mutsumi Takahashi.
