'Live the Drama!' Viewers Can Star in Their Very Own CTV 'Bouncing Ball' Promo

CTV Alert - July 10, 2008

-- CTV and "A" invite Toronto and Vancouver to participate in Summer-Long Street Campaign --

Ever wonder what it feels like to be a CTV star? This summer, residents of Toronto and Vancouver can find out! The network announced today the launch of CTV's new "Live the Drama" summer campaign, a creative and interactive promotion to give fans the opportunity to "live the drama" for themselves as new CTV and "A" Fall programs are introduced to people attending events in Toronto and Vancouver. The summer fun begins with viewers starring in their very own CTV "bouncing ball" promo. All they have to do is attend an event where the fleet of Summer Street Teams are set up with mini production tents throughout the Greater Toronto Area and Vancouver's Lower Mainland from now until September 1. (Detailed event listings and highlights of the interactive campaign are available for viewing on livethedrama.ctv.ca).

Hitting outdoor events and festivals, the CTV Summer Street Teams will give fans a chance to shoot their own CTV promo spot in tents equipped with a camera and green screen. Just like the renowned CTV promos that feature CTV stars interacting with the "bouncing red ball," participants can star in their own network promo - with the final recording resembling the promos seen on CTV.

Participants will be given a copy of their promo on DVD and can also check out livethedrama.ctv.ca to see if their clip was posted as a favourite by the CTV Summer Street Teams. The livethedrama.ctv.ca website will also feature blogs and photos taken by the Summer Street Teams.

"The 'Live the Drama' campaign really takes CTV's interactive and promotional efforts to a new level," said Rick Lewchuk, Senior Vice-President, CTV Creative Agency and Brand Strategy. "Residents of Toronto and Vancouver can explore their creative side, shoot footage to prove they are CTV's next stars, and at the same time, learn about all our great new shows coming this Fall."

To "live the drama", street teams will be at the following locations. For more event information and locations, visit livethedrama.ctv.ca.
